Church Christmas party

our church has a dessert auction Christmas party to raise money for a charity of some kind. This year we did it for the Elisha foundation . They offer retreats for families with children with disabilities. What a great cause!

My mom sets up a children's music program for each of the Sunday schools classes for the entertainment. It was pretty sweet. The kids all dressed up  My class, the 2.5-preK class were angles and the next classes were shepherds. My class sang away in a manger with the hand motions and the other classes sang Silent Night, Joy to the world (I think) go tell it on a Mountain and this song called JOY (if you want to listen to it, which I highly recommend, follow the link, click the drop down menu arrow on the side and click on Power of Encouragement CD and scrawl to the last song. Their music is my favorite bible kids music!!!) It all went great and my kids had fun being a part of it. baby and daddy weren’t feeling well so we had to leave them at home but other than that it was a fun night. I even got the dessert I wanted! yum.

my fellow comrades for winning our favorite dessert :)

My last post about fall

Well I’m getting all caught up with the blog today. yay for me. Part of our school on Friday is to write a letter to Aunt Rach. I thought the kids looked so cute after making their hand Turkeys about what we are thankful to God for so I took some pictures. We love you aunt Rach and are pretty excited to get to spend a month with you :) zoo_17zoo_18zoo_19

This girl is a funny one. her little face was popping out from under daddy’s arm trying to get some of his dinner. By the time I got the camera this is what she looked like but she’s still stinking cute. zoo_20

yes she a trouble maker. She has bit the top off many of the markers. Yesterday she got into my makeup bag and played with my Mascara. Thankfully I don’t’ wear it much and I don’t have expensive make up. I was not happy with the girls though, big sister joined in half way through, and she for sure knows better… There is just something about liquids and things that make messes that appeal to kids. My niece and Allie took the paints out and painted on the paper( and all over the carpet) in my room. I was so frustrated. Allie once again knows better. Ultimately though I shouldn’t have had the paints in an excisable spot…

zoo_23One of my very good girl friends and I met at the park for a play date. We had 7 kids between the two of us. Fun times. I’m truly thankful though that our kids are the same age and love each other. It makes it so easy to get together to play. It keeps are lives so similar to be in the same stages :)

the zoo

I hate the zoo. I always feel bad for these poor animals who sit there looking bored and lethargic. There you have it.

I was delightfully surprised though by this zoo. Maybe going in Nov when it isn’t as hot was also a good idea. We met my mother one day at the zoo right down the street from where she works. This zoo is more of a conservation so the animals have more space and they just seemed happier. The other thing is that for most of the animals this is more of their natural habitat so that may help as well. The only kind of exotic animal they had were Tigers. They were cool and I’m glad they had them.

here are our pictures.

I love my momma she’s the best. Baby kept popping her head through her legs. Pretty cute.

Fall festival

yes I know I’m lame for just now catching up with our fall stuff. We headed out to camp the next day so I was a little busy this week and stuff.

We did a fall festival costume party for the kids the first week of Nov. We set up carnival games with prizes. They had a blast. William was determined to be a cowboy and was pretty bummed he didn’t have the boots but seriously even the ones at payless were $30. I checked every thrift store I could think of and couldn’t find any used… I tried.

Allie dressed up as Belle, who, let’s be honest, is the best Disney Princess :) I went to Target the day after Halloween and bought a few costumes at 70% off. yes that’s they only way they were going to be getting them. They both loved being dressed up and playing games. That made me happy. Other than that the festival was a ton of work for me. I’m already making plans so that’s not how it turns out next year. It was a little overwhelming at moments.

here are some pictures.

ok these first pictures are of the kids playing a game from back in the day when we did the fall festival. You get blindfolded someone puts an Oreo cookie on the plate in front of you and covers it with whipping cream and you try to find it with your hand behind your back. You have to find and eat the cookie first to win.

My little man had a dentist appointment that day and chewed his lip while it was numb. It got huge. I was pretty concerned. The next day it was fine but the poor guy was pretty upset about it.
