November

Sorry this post is so late. Mommy hasn't been feeling so well.

Can't beat a start with some sweet pictures of my naked little man. After every bath, before he gets dressed, he runs around naked on our bed. He loves it!
What a sweet baby!!! Don't you just want to kiss him? He certainly gets lots of those as his mommy, Aunt Rachel, and Grandma Myers love to give kisses to the baby. I am so excited he has his daddy's clear blue eyes.

We have a had a good couple weeks. We had a great Thanksgiving at the Thornton's house. Wills wasn't hungry and this is what he looked like during dinner. He was actually pretty crabby but he did enjoy the opportunity to play with some of his cousins.
Nick has this silly little hat he wears when it is cold. He tried to wear it during our Thanksgiving kickball game and my sister ever so tactfully told him that if he wore that she wasn't playing. After many a unanimous vote Rachel was able to play kick ball with a good conscious. As silly as Nick looks, Wills looks kind of cute.

Wills and I returned home from a walk one day to find Nick home for lunch. He was wearing his funny hat for the first time. I walked in and told Wills to go say hi to daddy. This usually goes with out saying as Wills adores his daddy. That day however, he cowered behind my leg. I was kind of annoyed until I realized Wills didn't recognize Nick. I walked over and removed the hat and then Wills smiled and ran over to see his dad. It was pretty funny.

As I mentioned earlier my funny little man loves to climb. This is one of his favorites things to do. He climbs on his fire truck and turns the TV off. He thinks it is great. He also uses the fire truck to switch the computer off. ( the computer is that weird looking thing to the right of his head. Nick doesn't have the side panels on)

(This picture was taken on thanksgiving during the Lions game. )

I love this stage in Wills life because he is constantly learning something. He gets into everything but it just makes me laugh most of the time. As I stated earlier he loves to climb. A few weeks ago he learned how to get onto chairs all by himself. He can also pull himself up on the toilet. The result of this is mommy finding him in all sorts of weird spots, such as the dinning room table or the bathroom counter top. He loves to get his tooth past or dump the salt and pepper shakers upside down. He may have learned that last one from my sister at Thanks giving...

Now that Wills can get on chairs by himself we often find him on the computer. If he thinks we are headed over he will run to get there first. The other night he wasn't sleeping well and after being up for over an hour he wanted to get down from our bed. I let him down in the pitch dark night and a few minutes later i heard him cry. I listened for a second to see if he would just come back and then there was a sharp cry so I came running out to see. He was stuck on the computer chair. He climbed up and couldn't get down. It was kind of funny.

I mentioned before that he can use the computer pretty well. He turns the monitor on and off and he moves the mouse to get the screen to reappear. This week he also learned how to move the center of the mouse to get the page to scroll. Pretty cute.

If you look close at these pictures you will see that he has a little road rash on his nose. He fell on a parking block and scratched his nose up. Oh well, it has already healed pretty well.

The last bit of news is a sadder note (at least for mommy.) While climbing into the car on Saturday Wills fell and cracked his tooth. I don't have any pictures yet but don't worry from here on out you won't be able to miss it. I don't think the roots were affected so that is a blessing but he cracked a pretty good chunk out of his from tooth.

football

Because we lack cable and ultimately the Sunday Ticket we are forced to simply watch the games that are broad casted on ABC, NBC, or Fox. This mights actually work out ok, if we lived in Indianapolis or in New England, but fortunately, we don't. So lets think about the NFL for a minute. Out of the 32 teams in the NFL ranking, number 30 and 31 are located the closes to us. This means that we frequently get the Raiders or 49ers games. So this week we had the terrible misfortune of getting the San Fransisco (ranked 31) vs. Rams (ranked 28). We figured worse case scenario it would be a competitive game. Wills had taken a cat nap in the car on our way home from church so we weren't sure if he would lay down for an afternoon nap. So he and dad sat down to watch some football

5 minutes into the ultra exciting game

I'll have to remember, bad football teams= great naps! Ohh sweet dreams boys and don't worry you didn't miss anything!

just us hanging out

November has not held any exciting explorations as of yet, so today we are just posting the pictures of our daily lives. I realized the other day that I have forgotten to include little (possible insignificant) details of Wills development. One such example is that Wills loves silverware. He actually does really well with a fork. Managing to get most of his food into his mouth unlike the spoon which is a little harder for him to control correctly.

(a private message has been added by the owner of this blog hope that you can all understand it. ssvd b v vvvddfc vku00o99i jyu8i hujn98iunb j,hvc)

Another activity Wills has taken to is helping mommy with the laundry. Because of our hook ups our washer and dry are not in the most convenient order so we have to reach around the doors to move clothes to the dry. So we give them to Wills and he puts them into the dryer. Works pretty well unless you are in a hurry. Wills current speed is right up there with Cal Trans.

Other fun things that Wills does are retrieve items, such as shoes, his pacifier, and pretty much anything else dad throws for him. When he wants to go outside, which is pretty much always, he goes and gets and shoes and comes and sits on my lap so I will put them on him. He also throws garbage (and many non garbage items) into the trash can. After getting his diaper changed he promptly grabs his dirty diaper and throws it away. I was pretty shocked when he did this on his own initiative for the first time the other day. So after a little purel we have another useful trick.

Wills also loves to climb. He climbs the stairs and he climbs his little table toy, which he never really uses as a toy but more as a ladder, to get himself on our couch. He is very happy with himself when he gets up on the couch all by himself.

We were headed for a bath the other day and I had undressed Wills half way when I turned around to grab something. When I looked back he was undressing himself. It was pretty funny. He couldn't do it very well but he was certainly trying.

Two more of his favorite toys are the "big" computer, versus his little private baby lap top (no our child isn't going to be a computer nerd just like his dad, well definitely, but that's ok!) Wills loves to sit on our laps and type away at the key board. He also figured out that if he moves the mouse the screen will reappear. The other favorite toy is cell phones. Wills walks around the house with the phone pinched in his neck saying "hi , hi" it is pretty cute! Wills however has successfully broken both of our cell phones by sucking on them.

Here is my sweet little baby William when we first brought him home from the Hospital. He was so little!!! Time goes so fast!

I think those are all our fun facts for now. Hope you enjoyed.

More Yosemite

Here are the rest of our Yosemite pictures. The rest of the weekend we just took our time and enjoyed the view.
-Warning-There are a lot of Pictures to follow

Here is Half Dome. Half Dome rises 8,842 feet into the air and is one of most amazing display of God's creating. You can climb up cables to the top of half dome and look over at the whole valley. At least Nick's told me so because I didn't accompany him to the top a few years ago.

Daddy's Yosemite birthday trip part 1

(sorry for all the writing and I have so much to post about our great trip I am going to do it in parts)
We headed down to Yosemite National park Thursday, October 25, and stayed there for three nights. October is a nice time to visit Yosemite because there are a lot less people due to a lack of water in the falls and the weather usually isn't all that warm. Turns our the environment is warming up and we got beautiful weather. It was a little chili at night, somewhere in the upper 20's to low 30's, but our days were a gorgeous 70 degrees or so. God really blessed us with a beautiful weekend. Because of the weather, and less demand, several of the campsites become walk in campgrounds from October to April. This means you can't get a reservation for a camp ground unless you booked in the valley which fills up several months in advance. All that to say we didn't have a camp site but we weren't that worried because hundreds of sights were walk in only and we were going on Thursday.

We were getting ready to head out to Yosemite and Wills had caught a cold and was being really fussy. So I called "Dr grandma Myers" and she told me to call the Dr. just to be safe. I was headed to the store and figured if it worked I would take him. Well they had an appointment at the perfect time. Turns out Wills had an ear infection and we delayed out trip an hour to get some antibiotics...

So we got to the valley around 4:30 and we walked around for awhile and finally decided to drive up to find a camp site. We drove 45 min to find out that the camp ground we were hoping to stay at was closed. By this time it was dark and Wills was getting crabby. We turned around and decided to head to the Wawona camp ground which was another 30 min away from the valley but was better then an hour and a half to the other camp ground. So we finally got to Wawona and there is no ranger manning the camp ground but we saw open campsites, we were so thankful!!! Then we find out that the 6 open sites had these "fake" (meaning not official Yosemite park) reserved signs on them. We headed further into the campground to find that two section of the campground were closed so the only other available site was a group site. We checked our Yosemite guide book which clearly stated "NO RESERVATIONS from October to April" and we decided to stay in one of these "reserved sites." The other motivating factor in staying was that Wills was really tired of being in the car and we were all hungry, no surprise considering it was 8:30 by now. I was so thankful just to be stopped that I slept fine that night not worrying at all if these people were going to show up. Nick thinks he didn't sleep well because he was worried so he woke up at 6:00 ready to go. We packed up the car and headed to Mariposa Grove "the land of the big sequoia's," one of the motivating reasons to camp at Wawona. We hiked around there for a couple hours and then headed down to the valley and back out to Hodgdon Meadows camp ground. Fortunately there were plenty of camp grounds available and we stayed there for the next two nights. Also Hodgdone Meadows is a really nice camp ground. So the rest of our trip continued with out incident for which we were very thankful. We returned home on Sunday and ended up relaxing and preparing for Monday. We were so blessed by God for such a wonderful time to spend as a family just enjoying His creation. alright so not everyone in our house is use to getting up early

its debatable whether the camera bag still weighs more then the baby or not??

This tree is called "the General" and Nick says it is the biggest tree he has ever seen

Nick standing beside it is a more helpful comparison. Camera's really just can't capture the magnitude of this tree!

Us hanging out in a big tree!

This/these trees are called the faithful coupleI have visited Yosemite many times and never been to Maripose Grove. It was neat for all of us to see a new part of Yosemite
