cabin

My dad celebrated a monumental year this year by starting to collect part of his retirement so my parents decided to invest in a cabin. It’s about an hour from there house but far enough away you feel like you are really “out” of town and close enough to make it an enjoyable drive. They haven’t owned it very long so they are still working out all the new home stuff out but we went up a few weekends ago to join the fun. Chrisy had just had little baby Daniel (a whole other post will be dedicated to that later :) so we had the girls with us as well which was loads of fun for our kids. Here are few pictures I snapped. When we got up Sunday morning it was snowing. It really is beautiful!

It’s bigger than the house we grew up in :)

the kids love the stairs!

cabin11I was telling my mom that something very lovely about it is there are windows all around the whole place. I could follow the kids from inside and see exactly where they were.

Nick decided to dig part of the driveway all the way out. He spent a few hours and only had about a 20x20 area to show. Not because he didn’t work hard just because it’s hard work! He had shaky arms and blisters to show.

here’s the river behind the house

we brought up the quad to ride around. There had been a big snow fall that week so it wasn’t perfect conditions but it was fun. Charity and I went for a ride and may or may not have gotten stuck… Let’s just say I’m glad Nick could still see us and the three of us had a cozy ride back with Charity sitting snug between us :)cabin16

oh my gosh, what a fabulous investment! I keep hoping either set of our parents will do this or get something by the coast. Or up here :)
