4th of our recent life

My friend Jessica Green (formerly Barney) has a little guy 3 months younger then Wills. It is so fun to have friends who have children close in age to your own! Gives you so much more in common. Anyway... Jess and I don't get together enough but when we do we all have a great time. This time we went to Bishops pumpkin farm and let the boys run around. Chase and Wills had fun playing on the slides, looking at all the farm animals, watching a pig race, riding the train, and feeding the fish. To tell you the truth we didn't even go out to the pumpkin field. Allie needed to eat and it was going to be a 45 min round trip and neither of us thought our two year olds would really care. They didn't and had a great time riding the train instead.

Allie was in her baby Bjorn as we walking around. She did great. I am getting so much use out of that baby carrier this time. I find it really helpful to have my hands free to grab my rambunctious 2 year old and not have to push the stroller all the time.

here is the train ride.

Wills loves trains and had a great time after I convinced him it was ok to get on the train. We have been dealing with a bit of fear and he didn't want to get on. I hope it is just a stage he is going to grow out of soon.

this was air mattresses covered in hay that the kids could jump on. Kind of fun, kind of gross :)

riding the rocking horses. Pretty cool little things.

these are the faces I get when I ask Wills to look at the camera

feeding the goats. When Wills saw the cow he said "big doggie" he got it strait by the time we left.

after watching the pig race.

he was so mad. He didn't want to stand by the sign for me to take his picture.

3 of life

We had a Thornton family reunion two weekends ago. here are a few highlights. Not all the family was able to make it but maybe next year. This is my mom's side of the family (my maiden name is Myers :) which is pretty big. It was so great to see some of my cousins that we haven't seen in a couple years. We were able to meet several new little faces which was so fun.

A few of the family hanging out
I got inspired to pick the camera up after most of the family had already left. Go figure.
The two cute little girls are Katie's twins Hannah and Hailey. She is Brian and Maureen's daughter. I am not sure which this is I can't tell them apart. Aunt Maureen holding her granddaughter.

playing with her mommy.

My cousin Kell holding her niece Sonni. My cousin Kristine had a baby a week after I had Allie and this was the first time the little girls got to meet.

Sonni and Allie meeting for the first time.

My Uncle Tim's little Dog max

My Aunt Maureen's husband, Uncle Brian, holding one of his granddaughters.

My cousin Katie holding Allie.

Joe and James playing the bean bag toss while Rachel watches on.
These random people rented this bounce house for a birthday party and they let our kids use it. So nice!

post 2 of life

Saturday we were able to attend Gavyn (my 9 year old nephew) and Becca and Charity's soccer games (my 4 and 6 year old nieces who are on the same team.) she did stop the ball in case you were wondering.
Charity got to play goalie for her second half. She did a great job. This is her second year playing soccer and she has scored several goals.

Becca stays in her position very well. She may not be the best soccer player but she certainly has the biggest smile! She is so cute! Here she is doing exactly what the coach told her. You might consider it cherry picking but not so much in Bec's case :) hanging out with the other teams goalie.

Gav giving the ball a boot. My brother Nate gets to be Gav's couch which is pretty cool.

The refereeing was a bit shady! Haha, that is my cousin Joe and James was his side line ref.

life

At the outset let me say that I should have probably done these post a little differently and probably in several different post. I haven't been able to update the blog as much as I would have like lately so I have few catch up post I am going to put up. I have been busy the last couple of weeks . I think life with two children is just going to keep me that way which is wonderful. Here is a picture story of what we have been doing.

One Sunday afternoon I wanted to get a picture of Allie in her pretty little dress we borrowed from Aunt Chrisy. One serious advantage to having older girl cousins, we get to borrow all their pretty clothes.
Those of you who know my husband well will understand that when Nick decides he doesn't want to do something, or he thinks your idea stinks, it is really hard to get him to cooperate anyway... This happens a lot when I want to take random pictures of our children.

from the picture above it appears that my son is going to be just like his father. I am pretty sure that look is saying what his mouth wants to "mom this is totally stupid!" LOL
One of Williams favorite things to do right now is to drop kick the ball. He is really good at it! He usually uses a soft ball but he will even drop kick a full size soccer ball. Crazy kid!

Such a cute little boy making his best fake smile.

My pretty princess in her daddy's arms.

I put all three of these up because I think they are so cute. Allie likes people she knows much more then Wills did as an infant. Her particular favorite is her mommy but daddy is right up there. She lights up when he comes home. She hears his voice and looks for him. She almost always saves her biggest smiles for him. She also started laughing at him. She was so tired the other day but she couldn't help but laugh at daddy. It was such a funny tired laugh. We both know that she is going to be much harder to discipline then her brother and that mommy will probably end up being tougher on her then daddy. She is our little princess.

William makes sure that daddy remembers him :) he doesn't mind when he plays with her as long as he is included. So cute! Wills is definitely going to have some competition for daddy's time. I lost that battle as soon as William could interact (In Nick's defence not because he particularly thinks I am boring he is just a wonderful father who truly enjoys his children.)

Allie loves to grab things. She frequently pulls her pacifier out. Such a sweet picture though :)

we had the wonderful privilege of playing with some of our friends at Bounce U which is a indoor place with bounce houses. Wills had a blast running around and getting lots of energy out. These pictures are terrible but they are so funny! These little guys are filled with air and bounce and he kept falling over when he bounced. He loved it.

One of our cute little friends Clair Lesiw. She was a little calmer on the bouncy thing.

Wills favorite activity, well after Mom went down it with him once. Let's be honest here and say I didn't mind being included and was kind of excited to try it out myself. On one of the slides I got a burn. LOL.

This was Wills favorite thing there for sure.
Wills buddy Ty Garate. Ty is 8 months older and Wills was going a little slow for him. How fun to have friends to play with!

Thanks for inviting us Sara we had a great time. Thanks for being a great sport about Allie sharing her diaper "blessings" with you, only a mother of three could react so sweetly.

William wasn't that inclined to take a nap one day so I heard him playing around in his bedroom when the noise stopped I went to check out what was going on. Here is where I found him fast asleep. He is getting so big. I think having a new baby reminds me how fast he grew up. Makes me so sad! I just love my babies so much!
