Well I guess since we have had out Christmas tree since the weekend after thanksgiving I can share a little something about our glorious tree. Nick says and I quote "this is the best Christmas Tree I have ever had." I would venture to say that the reason this tree tops the Christmas tree list is it is simply huge. When we cut it down it was roughly over 13 feet. Some of you may wisely be thinking, don't you live in a one bedroom apartment??? The answer to that is still yes, however, because we have vaulted ceilings, we (Nick) decided that we should get the biggest tree possible. So several weeks ago we headed to Tahoe National forest gathered a $10 permit and headed out to find a Christmas tree. So we went for a little hike to find a tree, after an hour and a half of searching to no avail, we decided to try another spot. Fortunately this spot we could mostly stay in the car and so we did tree spotting from the warm cab of Uncle Dan's truck. As time was not our friend and sunset passed we still didn't have our tree but there was still enough light to continue our search. All ended well and we came home with two tree's, one for us and one we cut down for my parents using the headlights of the truck . This is a great way to get a tree because it only cost us $10 for a 13 foot tree, however, many of the tree's grow however they can often causing missing spots or other such problems. Our tree is a beauty! It's only flaw is its "delightfully" crooked. Also the top 2 feet remain undecorated because we simply can't reach it.

We have out lights on a power strip so when we are arriving home or leaving Wills does the honor of turning the lights on or off. It is really cute. He also likes to randomly flip them on and off throughout out the day.

We had the tree for a week and a half before we decorated it. Even then Nick was a little bummed that he lost his forest in our house. Nick really does love this tree he doesn't even want to correct the lean by adding wood under the base of our stand.
Laugh out loud! see how the tree all of a sudden gets crooked in the middle. We really do love our huge Christmas tree!! The extra lean just adds character.

Wow. That is one big tree. Are you sure that it's bigger than the one from Green Acres Lane?
Wow! That is interesting. :)
Yes the one we had at Green Acres was only 11 ft. This one only leans because it grew on the side of a hill with a slope parallel to those found in the Himalayas. Needless to say but quoted here for posterity is that carrying it up that slope adds about a hundred points to my estimation of the tree's character.

By the way, your tree is lovely! Nick, I think it is great that you love your tree so much. Too funny! Abe has never been that attached to one of our trees. :)
I love it! So festive. The leaning is super funny, but so cute. Looks like something that belongs in Whoville :)
